Thanks for pointing this out - this was a mistake in the article and we&#039;ve rectified all mentions to now refer to the correct winner: the DT770s.

DT990s are sort of the open-back equivalent of the DT770s; we think the DT770s are the better suit for gamers (and prefer the immersive closed quality of open back phones for listening to music too). But if for whatever reason, you&#039;re more interested in open-back, we&#039;d pick the Sennheiser HD 599s over the DT990s anyway.
